With no set itinerary or destination, whatever course your Captain sets, you
will be witness to breathtaking scenery as you experience the
exhilaration of sailing a traditional windjammer.
You can help haul the anchor, set the sails, steer, navigate, and live the
experience "hands on"-or exercise the option to do nothing at all!
While keeping a sharp eye out for osprey, seals, porpoise and an occasional
whale, it is a known fact that if there are two schooners on the same
course, the "race is on," so be prepared to be called to action for an
impromptu test of skill, speed and luck against another ship.
Evening will find us in a safe quiet anchorage, where in most cases you can
go ashore by yawl boat and explore a quaint coastal village or hike an
uninhabited island. Stretch your legs, row the peapod, find a quite place to
yourself, or if you are the heartiest of souls, take a dip and refresh in
Maine's cool waters as Dawn and Annie put the finishing touches on your evening
feast. After dessert, the Captains and crew may be prevailed upon to
entertain with music or a story.
