Frequently Asked Questions
Can I help sail the boat?
We encourage everyone to be a part of our "crew"... helping us to get started each day, sailing the boat and anchoring at night. We also welcome help in the galley and encourage everyone to take a turn at the dish basin! You can even take a turn at the wheel if you like or have Capts. Finger or Tassi teach you to navigate.
What will the weather be like? What if there's inclement weather?
Enjoy long days and amazing sailing in May and June. September and October's fall colors and the crisp, clean air provide an opportunity for take-your-breath-away stargazing! Early and late in the season we also have the advantage of being less hectic. In July and August, you'll find typical summer weather patterns with day temps ranging from the high 70's to the 90's.
The only thing we can say with 100% confidence is that there will be weather! Mainers have a saying: If you don't like the weather, wait a minute. Things change quickly here...morning fog can burn off to a beautiful sunny day; winds can pick up and change with a moments notice. Days that start out rainy often end on a sunny note. There's something special about traveling here every month of the sailing season. Crisp morning and evening in June, the hint of beautiful, lush foliage turning in September and the entire coastline glory in between. Check our what to pack list and you'll be prepared no matter the weather conditions.
